The jazz trumpeter Christoph Titz is not only a virtuoso but also a very relaxed performer who creates a wholly personal, distinctive sound. He gave a thrilling concert with his quartet at the Funkhaus (German Radio) recently.
In the past, Christoph Titz has collaborated with many renowned musicians, among them being Reinhard Mey and Sarah Connor. In more recent times he has concentrated on performing with his own (jazz) bands.
An important characteristic of his music is his highly varied rhythm. Titz’s distinctive melodies are often supported by a hypnotic beat, which sweeps one away and doesn’t let go so easily.
