On 16th September a concert took place as part of the Musica Sacra Maastricht Festival. It was a wonderful event with a very moving, sold-out concert with Marco Blaauw who played the piccolo trumpet, the Double Bell C trumpet and the Quartertone flugelhorn in a beautiful and fitting venue - the „Keizerzaal“ in the St. Servaas Basilica - with a tribute to Hub. Our heartfelt thanks to Marco Blaauw as well as to Erwin Roebroeks, the director of Musica Sacra … Read more » about Musica Sacra Maastricht dedicated a concert by Marco Blaauw to Hub van Laar

Obituary Hub | “keep making progress” by Takamasa Hikita
The other day, the Joy Brass trumpet team and I had dinner together in Tokyo. We exchanged wonderful memories of Hub san. We really appreciated him - and still do - and we take good care to pursue his great advice and wisdom and "keep on making progress". I bought a new B6 flugelhorn from Joy Brass about two months ago. I was truly surprised when I tried out this new instrument because the B6's great sound is exactly what I have been looking for. I've been thinking. Hub always spoke his … Read more » about Obituary Hub | “Life is beautiful.” by Chris Kase

Unfortunately, it is not possible to answer personally to each and every one. While we are experiencing great sorrow over our sad loss, we are extremely grateful for our time with Hub. Ik ben uit het theater van dit leven gevallen en beleef een hele eenvoudige vrede. Eenzaam alleen maar tegelijk intens verbonden. I have stumbled out of this life's theatre and now experience a very simple peace. Lonely alone, but at the same time strongly connected. Ich bin aus dem Theater dieses Lebens herausgestolpert und erfahre jetzt einen ganz einfachen Frieden. Einsam allein, aber gleichzeitig stark verbunden. The funeral on Saturday December 31st at 13:00 can be … Read more » about Hub
