Within the trumpet section of the VFKG, Voluntary Fanfare Corps of the Engineering Regiment, three trumpet players, Harry van Avendonk, Frans van Weenen and Theo van der Zanden together play six Van Laar instruments in the range B4, B5, B6 and OIRAM Ack flugelhorn.
In addition to the VFKG fanfare orchestra, these Van Laar instruments are used in a wide range of music styles including classical, jazz, pop, rock, and world music.
The Voluntary Fanfare Corps of the Engineers is the official Regimental Orchestra of the Engineering Regiment. From their home base, the Van Brederode barracks in Vught NL, they have been guests for tattoo shows and concerts in Germany, England, Austria, France, Sweden, Luxembourg, Ireland, and Belgium in addition to their home country The Netherlands.
The valuable Engineering traditions are supported internationally and from these traditions the VFKG marketentsters (sutlers) are an indispensable part.

Het Vrijwillig Fanfarekorps der Genie is het officiële Regimentsorkest van het Regiment Genietroepen. Vanaf de thuisbasis, de Van Brederodekazerne te Vught, is men naast het thuisland Nederland te gast geweest voor taptoe shows en concerten in Duitsland, Engeland, Oostenrijk Frankrijk, Zweden, Luxemburg, Ierland en België. Men houdt de waardevolle Genie tradities internationaal in stand en vanuit deze tradities zijn de VFKG-marketentsters een onmisbaar onderdeel.
