This year, I faced the impeccably demanding honor of performing the solo role in Karlheinz Stockhausen’s “Michaels Reise um die Erde” at the 2019 Holland Festival as part of Aus LICHT. The extreme finesse and virtuosity required for this music would have remained impossible for me without the use of my Van Laar Bb trumpet. Visiting the shop and playing multiple horns for Hub directly to find what sounded optimal gave me the confidence to fly high on stage as Michael.
