The experience I had seems to be shared amongst my friends. Even before entering the shop, shock struck me realizing that today would be the day I pick my new trumpet. That day I would begin a new relationship with an instrument,
but I wound up getting much more than that. Meeting Hub, Heidrun, Angeline and the rest of the Van Laar family is so much more than just picking an instrument. Their attentive ears and eyes guided me to the right instrument for me. I was allowed time to really spend with each instrument before Hub lent his ears. The shock didn’t subside after I returned home, in fact I cried at how beautiful of an instrument I would soon own. I feel fortunate everyday for my visits the shop working with all of these incredible makers and to be able play these wonderfully crafted instruments.
