I was never one to be shy in trying new instruments or equipment but throughout my career I have really only used very few. Both the Van Laar trumpet and flugelhorn felt like they were designed for me straight out of the box, which has honestly never happened before. Not only are the general requirements such as intonation and response met at the highest level, but these instruments provide as well the ability to deliver a sense of individuality which is required and rarely found.
