« I have to admit that for a long time I thought the instrument was not as important as my daily work on improving my technique on the trumpet. In my opinion, this is still true, but with nuances: Van Laar’s trumpet made possible the work I have been doing for all these years to be finally shown in my playing. As an improviser musician, I feel that it is now possible to reflect my ideas more effectively and faithfully to what I want to communicate. This trumpet gives me the confidence and freedom to venture into new territories. I’m glad I was wrong!
